The facts happened on April 17, 2021 in the center of Bruges. A police patrol was approached by a man who said he had been beaten by a guy who was moving on an electric scooter.

Cocaine hidden in Kinder Surprise egg

The defendant was soon arrested. He turned out to have 350 euros in his pocket, but also had hidden cocaine in a Kinder Surprise egg. The investigation showed that the man had been dealing cocaine for some time.

The defense shows that the Bruges resident broke with the drug environment after four months in pre-trial detention. In those circumstances, a suspended sentence, coupled with conditions, was successfully pushed for.

Other suspect

During the investigation, investigators also identified a 38-year-old suspect. In his home in Bruges, the police discovered speed, hash, cannabis and a sum of 2,000 euros. In addition, eight cannabis plants were found in his garden. According to the defense, however, everything was for their own use.

The public prosecutor demanded twelve months in prison, but the defense successfully argued to link that sentence to probation.
