Two years after a Dutchman flew around the world to stalk influencers, New Zealand is ‘finally’ changing the law

For years, victims of stalkers in New Zealand had nowhere to turn, simply because stalking was not a criminal offense there. The well-known influencer Jazz Thornton also didn’t know what to do when the Dutch Pieter chased her to her house, on the other side of the world. Partly thanks to her story, the law was changed this week, with immediate results: the first arrest took less than 24 hours.
