Patty Brard finds it striking that two thirds of the applicants of the new The Voice are woman, since they were of course not at all safe with the talent show. “No deterrence.”
The Voice of Holland returns to the tube: without the dirty Ali B and Jeroen Rietbergen, but with swing king Edson da Graça and sniff grapper Willie Wartaal. Is this all going well? In one month at least 2,000 potential participants have registered: two thirds of them are, 80 percent younger than 30 and one even 16 years old.
Debatable
Very striking, thinks Patty Brard. “The registrations are coming in. Of course you would think with everything that happened and with all the unrest there has been … It is now coming back and it is already very debatable that it comes back or at least a lot is being discussed, I let it say,” she says in Shownieuws.
She continues: “I don’t think it’s questionable, I just think it should come back. Then you think: now still candidates, because of course you have already recorded and not broadcast for half a season, are those people coming back? They have to register again. The funny thing is that people have not been put off.”
Striking
Patty didn’t expect it. “Two of the three registrations are women and I find that rather striking, because with that nagging about that voice with safety and this and that and so on, then you think: how did that impact on women? So nothing, because two in three are women and I like to hear that people don’t get rid of.”
The Opinies site GeenStijl is also surprised. ‘Massive interest in being assaulted at The Voice of Holland’, is their heads. “There is massive interest to be assaulted, although those new rules of conduct will make a bit more difficult. Moreover, the scariest weasels have already been taken out of the chicken coop,” it sounds.
Nice cozy
With scariest weasels, among other things, Jeroen Rietbergen, the debatable sweetheart of Linda de Mol, is referred to. “The band sufferer against whom nineteen reports of undesirable behavior have been made (ranging from treating minor girls to sending Dickpics).”
