Does the ketchup be stored in the refrigerator?
Ketsupi is one of the basic equipment of Finnish kitchens. It can be found in the closet of almost every Finnish kitchen.
But is it a refrigerator or a room temperature dry cabinet? Unfortunately, ketchup is being stored incorrectly.
If you look at the ketchup bottle in more detail, there is instruction on its side: “The open bottle is kept cool”. So the refrigerator is the right place for the open ketchup.
Instead, the unopened ketchup remains at room temperature until the best before date.
The shelf life of the opened ketchup is also influenced by how often and for how long the product has been at room temperature. It is not advisable to leave a bottle for a long time, for example, in the sunshine.
For many, ketchup is the actual meal savior.
