The accident happened around 9 p.m., when numerous visitors were enjoying a drink on the terraces on the Grote Markt in Kortrijk. Three motorcyclists were driving towards the Grote Markt, but suddenly things went wrong.
One of them allegedly lost control of his steering wheel and ended up among the terrace goers. The result? Four people were injured, including two seriously injured. Some chairs were also broken.
Traffic expert
Emergency services rushed to the scene and police cordoned off the area. A traffic expert was appointed by the public prosecutor’s office to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident. The three motorcycles were seized for further investigation.
