Two people from Brabant and a Belgian have to go into the cell because they ran a drug lab in Someren. For the second time, the police found a lab on a site in Someren last summer that was used by the men to make hard drugs.

In several buildings on the site and also beyond, things and chemicals were found for the production of drugs. There was also 175 kilos of MDMA crystals. It is estimated that there were enough raw materials to make one million XTC pills. They would have had a street value of three million euros.

Caught
The 77-year-old owner from Someren of the plot has to go into the cell unconditionally for two years. The judge charges him that he has made his site available for the second time. He was also caught in 2020. For this, the man from Someren was sentenced to a conditional prison sentence and community service.

According to the judge, there is now no more naivety. The man would even have set rules for the criminal activities on his ground. The man would not only have made his site available, but also have actively maintained contact with his fellow suspects. There are, however, indications that the man has been put under pressure.

Cook and laboratory technician also in the cell
A 44-year-old man from Tilburg was also convicted. He is sentenced to four years in prison for producing drugs. The man himself said that he had only performed hand-and-tightening services, but statements and two seized telephones show that that is incorrect. As a cook he had an important and steering role, the judge thinks.

The 58-year-old man from Belgium has to go to jail for three years. He was active as a laboratory technician and therefore had a smaller role in the operation. The Belgian performed various activities in the drug lab, including the crystallize of MDMA oil in freezers and let the MDMA that were obtained with it.

Cleaning up the lab costs the government more than 76,000 euros. The cook and the laboratory technician both have to contribute 20,000 euros to this.
