There is a buzz around the Norwegian ski jumpers again.
In the qualifying competition held in Kulm, Austria on Friday, two Norwegian jumpers, Andreas Langmo and Benjamin Østvold discus for illegal jumpsuits.
As a result, neither duo is allowed to participate in the hill jumping competition on Saturday.
Langmo didn’t pass the equipment check in the hill tower, and therefore didn’t get to jump at all. Østvold, on the other hand, survived the first inspection, but an additional inspection at the bottom led to rejection.
– This is a really sad situation for the boys, the Norwegian national team coach Rune Velta told Nettavisen’s by.
Red card
For Østvold, it was the second rule violation of the season, and he was given a red card according to the rules of the International Ski Federation, which prevents participation in the next two World Cup competitions.
Next week, the ski jumping events will move to Lahti, which means that Østvold will not be seen in Finland, at least not jumping.
Norway also has one less quota place available for the Lahti competitions. Velta confirmed that Langmo is also not part of the Norwegian team traveling to Lahti next week.
