Two men in a stolen car with a French license plate were injured on the A2 near Veldhoven on Tuesday morning around four o’clock after a short chase by the police. The driver of the stolen vehicle managed to escape.
According to a police spokesman, several police units were after the stolen car. The fleeing trio tried to escape in a southerly direction. A police car collided with the French vehicle on the highway. No officers were injured in the collision.
It is not yet known whether the collision was intentional or accidental. Police expect to have more clarity about the occupants later in the day.
The two injured men from the stolen car were taken to hospital with unknown injuries. A police spokesman said they are still looking for a third man behind the wheel.
