Colombia is one of the most dangerous countries for journalists. Between 1977 and 2014, during the civil war, 152 media workers were killed, according to the government. The situation has improved somewhat in recent years, but there are still regular fatal attacks on journalists. According to the organization Reporters Without Borders, especially reporters who report on the armed conflict, environmental pollution, mining and corruption are threatened and attacked.
