A neighbor called the emergency services at the end of the morning on Saturday. She had not seen the brothers for a long time and decided to investigate. When she looked through the window of their home on Lisbonweg in the Holy district, she saw one of the brothers lying on the bed. Because she did not trust the case, she called in the emergency services.
The two brothers found them on the bed a little later. At that time, they had been dead for a long time, the police reported. It is unclear exactly how long they had been there. A local resident said she had seen the duo on Wednesday.
Forensic Investigation specialists are currently investigating the cause of death. There are plenty of police officers on duty around the two brothers’ home, which is located in an apartment building.
Measurements were taken to check for carbon monoxide (CO), but no increased concentration was found, a police spokesperson said. The house has been cordoned off by the police and declared a crime scene.
At mother’s house
The two brothers, who according to local residents are in their sixties, lived in the apartment with their mother for years. When she died a few years ago, they continued to live there together.
Local residents react with shock to the news of their deaths. “They were very friendly people, who always said hello when you met them,” a neighbor describes the duo. “They often went out together and did shopping, for example.”
