In the state of Thuringia, a 20-year-old man died after a firecracker, which he had set himself, exploded. Police are still investigating the incident, which occurred on New Year’s Eve but was not reported until later because the police wanted to inform the victim’s family.
And in the capital Berlin, twelve people, including children, were injured by an explosion of illegal fireworks. The youngest victim is 11 years old. Eleven of the twelve injured have been taken to hospital.
