Two dead after serious collision between cyclist (85) and motorcyclist (40) in Genk, soldier administered first aid: “I no longer felt a pulse, but I did my duty”

Two people were killed in a serious traffic accident in Genk this afternoon. At the intersection of the Zuiderring and the Swinnenwijerweg, a motorcycle collided with a bicycle around 5 p.m. The cyclist (85) from Genk did not survive the blow. The motorcyclist (40) from Lanaken also succumbed to the injuries sustained shortly after the heavy blow. The passenger on the motorcycle (37) was seriously injured. Military Tom Vermossen of 10W Tac saw everything happening and administered first aid: “Hopefully the woman will be okay!”
