Two car fires in quick succession last night in Emmen. Residents on Zuidlaarderbrink heard a bang around 2 a.m., after which they saw a parked car on fire. About an hour later, a report came in of a new car fire. This time to De Haar.
A Porsche went up in flames during the fire at Zuidlaarderbrink. The fire brigade was unable to prevent the car from being completely destroyed. The car at De Haar can also be considered lost.
It is not yet clear whether the two fires are related. This will require further investigation by the police. Arson is taken into account.
The police have collected camera images and local residents have told their stories to the police. No one was injured in either fire.
