Betiana Bradas and Claudio Roncoli met approximately 15 years ago in the city of Buenos Aires. Since then, they have had a friendship that has led them to travel and carry out different projects together in various countries around the world, as well as sharing studios in Madrid, New York and Miami. Both are visual artists who explore diverse languages and techniques, from painting and collage to sculpture and screen printing.
In the year 2023 they meet again in the country where they grew up, among several brainstorming meetings a phrase appears that says: “there is positive synergy when the result is greater than the sum of the results of each element or each part acting in isolation. This perfectly explains the fusion of these artists. After that union they decided to found 1+1=3, a 200 m2 space located in the Recoleta neighborhood, where each one produces their ideas and carries out their dreams. In addition to their studios as Artists, there is an exhibition room, where they do individual shows, together and sometimes with guest artists where they show what they are working on. They also develop a screen printing workshop, a technique in which Claudio Roncoli has been developing for 20 years, in the same Betiana and Claudio grant artists scholarships through Fundación Arte Móvil, of which Claudio is founder and Betiana collaborates with several professionals in the country. and the exterior.
While we were talking to them, both were with one foot on the plane, Betiana was heading to Miami, where in addition to being her second home, she is preparing an exhibition to be presented during the week of Art Basel, which continues the series of works she presented at Valk Gallery in Buenos Aires. Claudio will be based in Spain for a few months to make a mural in Madrid and exhibit his works at FIG in Bilbao, the contemporary graphic art fair where works by Dalí, Warhol and Picasso are also available. The Spanish newspaper El Economista names Roncoli as one of the master prints to take into account with the work “Rambler” from its Empty Project series.
Art and friendship go hand in hand with these two creators without borders, who in addition to showing their works, support other artists to take their first steps in the world of art. Its 1+1=3 space is a place of meeting, exchange and experimentation, where art is experienced as a form of expression and communication. Betiana and Claudio are two examples that Argentine art has a lot to offer and that there are no limits to creativity.
