The 39-year-old woman was placed under custody on Saturday evening. She had reported to the police on Friday that the child had disappeared during a walk. In reality, she had beaten the boy that day and brought it to the riverbank, where the child’s father and uncle found the boy lifeless.
It is there that she killed the child with a knife, according to the Marseille prosecutor. He specified that the child died in the afternoon, even before the description of his disappearance.
