The first copy was handed over to Mister Ajax, Sjaak Swart. He immediately dropped the 12 -kilo book out of his hands. In addition to Swart, there were many former Ajax players present to receive the first copies, including John van ‘t Schip, Dick Schoenaker and Simon Tahamata.
Complete history
The complete history of Ajax passes by in the two bundles. For example, all players who once came to Ajax were admitted, as well as the trainers, drivers and all 4000 official matches – almost all with accompanying setups. The Ajax – DWS match of 6 September 1964 is also not missing. That day Ajax lost 0-3 to Stadgenoot DWS. Although Mister Ajax can hardly imagine: “We lost 3-0 to DWS? That is almost impossible.”
The books are developing the Ajax Association and the Ajax Foundation on the support of the Supporters Association. A percentage of the proceeds is donated to the Ajax Foundation.
