It could just be that SBS 6 will soon have a reality star with a conviction, namely Peter Gillis. “Which advertiser still wants in his commercial breaks? Albert Heijn?! ”
Quite a surprise: The completely milked reality series by Peter Gillis can go through another series. We have now ended up at season 14 (!). “For the first time with another producer. The producer who discovered Gillis and sold it to SBS 6 thought it was enough after 13 seasons. SBS 6 not yet. Strange ”, says Tina Nijkamp.
4 points lower
TV authority Tina did not expect it. “You may still wonder: why does SBS 6 actually want this?” She says in her podcast Tina’s TV UPDATE. “The previous series on Friday evening was not so well scored from November 2024. Gordon stood there with his real life soap and that was not too high in the totals. ”
But Gordon had around 18 percent market share in the commercial target group, says Tina. “And Gillis didn’t make it. He got 4 points lower, so Gillis actually scores lower than Gordon, but they still ordered a new season. ”
Not a big flop
Why is SBS 6 so holding on to that man? “I think SBS 6 fears to work with another family for the viewing figures, because they think: yes, 14 percent are still 14 percent and that is not 5 percent or something. It is not a very large flop yet, but good: the rack is out and the magic around this family is a bit gone. ”
She continues: “What is certain now – we don’t have to wait for the press release – is that Gordon’s soap is now definitely going on. Will start in September. ”
Conviction
Tina wonders what SBS 6 will do if Gillis will soon have a conviction on his pants. “The entire Gillis order is crazy that SBS 6 already has a broadcast date: May 9. So the big question is: what does SBS 6 do with a conviction of Peter Gillis on April 16? Even if he would appeal? “
Will SBS 6 start the series on May 9? Tina, who has been SBS 6 herself, cannot imagine it. “Which advertiser still wants to be sentenced in the commercial blocks at Gillis? The Rabobank? Albert Heijn? The VriendenLoterij with Jamai? Big problem I think. ”
No clause
SBS 6 said to Tina on request that it has no clause in the Gillis contract that they can drop out in the event of a conviction.
She concludes: “Do advertisers still want to advertise this soap at all at all?”
