P.er the tv series the tank of graphic novel is today the one to be plundered. The striped stories (but woe to call them that) are in fact the most loved, by children-adults and adults-children. Flying over the infinite debate whether they are an easy path or the maximum of current popular production, here is a guide to TV and streaming productions who have drawn subject and heroes from it. Conquering successes.
One of the longest-lived and most famous is The Walking Dead; who prefers i Super heroes can surf between platforms with The Boys, The Umbrella Academy (in June we await the third season for both), Runaways And Watchmen. Also, how can we forget the case of Lucifer.
But even in Italy we defend ourselves well. It has recently been launched Christian, that is Edoardo Pesce with the stigmata, while Tear off along the edges Of Zerocalcare it was a phenomenon of views and controversies. Coming from another editorial case of these years is instead the series taken from the works of Bad comics.
TV series based on graphic novels
Christian. Sky
Sacred and profane, supernatural and realismcrime and comedy. The mix of Christian is loosely based on Stigmatagraphic novel by Claudio Piersanti and Lorenzo Mattotti (published by Logos Edizioni).
The main character is Christian (Edoardo Pesce), a superhero Sui generis. It is about a boy from the Roman suburbs doing the dirty work for a local boss: one day his life is turned upside down when the stigmata. Christian begins to perform miracles starting from the neighbor Rachel (Silvia D’Amico), an addict whose life she unwittingly saves. Since that time eyes are on him.
Snowpiercer. Netflix
It is the television adaptation of the homonymous film by Bong Joon-hoin turn taken from French graphic novel by Jacques Lob Le Transperceneige. It is a post-apocalyptic thriller which takes place seven years after a new ice age. For the survival of the species the survivors of the human race have become passengers on a trainlo Snowpiercerwho travel perpetually around the world to feed themselves.
The wagons represent the different social classes: we pass by the most poor to prisoners, to the richest like Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly) e Piki Aariak (Sasha Frolova). But the rules are about to jump, the wagon of the last of the last triggers the revolution towards the leading carriages. On Netflix the three seasons are available.
The Boys. Season 3 starting June 3. Prime Video
The series is based on the graphic novel of the New York Times created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson (here also as executive producer).
The point of view is interesting for many reasons, and it rests on a future in which a group of seven Super heroes – self-reported, mythomaniacs and corrupt – I am under contract with a multinational that takes care of their image and merchandising. But that hides other objectives.
Intent on stopping the Seven and the Vought there are precisely the The Boysa ramshackle group of powerless humans who don’t give up.

The Walking Dead. Disney +
One of the most followed cult series of the last years. The television adventure began 12 years ago, but the fight against zombie it began on the pages of the namesake comic by Robert Kirkman. On Disney + all seasons are available including the second part of the eleventh, in which i protagonists are busy fighting the upcoming battle triggered by the attack of the Reapers.
In Alexandria flares up the wrath of Mother Nature and life in Commonwealth it is not as idyllic as it seems. The world is literally collapsing before everyone’s eyes, lives hang by a thread and every decision can drastically change the future.
The Umbrella Academy. Season 3 starting June 22. Netflix
It refers to the graphic novel by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bà. And after the arrival on Netflix it also exploded in Italy Umbrella Academy mania. The protagonists are gods unconventional superheroesendowed with various powers and raised under the wing of Dr. Hargreeves.
Everyone can’t wait to enjoy it third season coming June 22nd. Umbrella Academy members after returning to the present and having foiled the apocalypse of 1963 they will face new enemies, the antagonists of Sparrow Academy. Not only that: a destructive entity is carrying chaos in the universe.
Lucifer. Netflix

The Adventures of the Three Locke Brothers (Tyler, Kinsey and Bod) have captured the younger audience, too bad the horror tints of the comic have been blunted to make the product affordable for teenagers.
The brothers, after the murder of their father, move with their mother to the family villa in Massachusetts. Here they discover magical keys that they grant to the owners of extraordinary abilities. But there is a terrible one Dodge demon who wants to seize it to enter our world. The three will do everything to prevent it, in the meantime they will find out what’s behind the father’s death.
There is also in the cast Emilia Jones, recently seen in the film QUEUE.

Watchmen. Sky and Now
The series HBOcreated by Damon Lindelof (Lost), which harks back to the famous graphic novel by Alan Moore And Dave Gibbons, is set in an alternate world (the United States won the war in Vietnam) and sees as protagonists the superheroes considered outlawed.
In reality it is a journey in and out of the comic: the world is that by Alan Moorebut is revisited and updated: we are no longer with the sword of Damocles of the cold warbut with the question racial exploded in era Trump. Involvement is guaranteed, but the comic remains a superior masterpiece. After all, it lacks the touch of Moorewho has always dissociated himself from the cinematographic and television transpositions of his works.
Tear off along the edges. Netflix
Zerocalcare takes back his world made a comic books with friends Sarah, Dry and the now famous Armadilloor the voice of conscience (voiced by Valerio Mastandrea). A journey to the cynical and romantic planet of a generation, that of Michele Rech (name in the registry office of the Italian cartoonist).

The TV series, based on the comic of the same name written by Charles Forsmanknown as “the left-handed Frank Miller”, Has two protagonists adolescents with whom it is difficult to empathize. James (Alex Lawther), since he saw his mother commit suicide he does not feel any emotion, after killing animals of all sorts he plans to try it with a human being. They then join forces to thwart their evil plans. Like any adolescent, they will face eternal conflict with their parentsto grow up in a context they would never have thought of living and to even collide with their own frailties.

There protagonist is P.. who will live a generation story about freedom and self-determination.

American Born Chinese. Disney +. Coming soon
The TV series directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, director of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings recently nominated for an Academy Award for Best Special Effects, it harks back toThe graphic novel of the same name by Gene Luen Yang from 2006.
The story is inspired by the Chinese mythology and tells three seemingly distant stories that come together to explore themes such as identity, culture and family. One of the protagonists is the teenager Jin Wang (Ben Wangì) implicated between high school social life, immigrant family life and one battle between Chinese mythological deities. Among the interpreters there is also Michelle Yeoh (The tiger and the dragon).

Bodies. Netflix. Coming soon
The series crime / thrillerwhich we will perhaps see by the end of the year or in 2023, is being dealt with from the graphic novel of the same name Of Yes Spencer. The affair focuses on four detectives investigating the same murder in four different eras. There are directing Marco Kreutzpaintner And Haolu Wangone of the minds behind it Doctor Who.
