The ice hockey world mourns the loss of Tobias Eder. The striker of the Eisbären Berlin died at the age of only 26.

Matthias Killing also moves the death of the German ice hockey national player Tobias Eder. The TV presenter, who had met Eder at the 2024 World Cup in the Czech Republic, remembered the 26-year-old on social media, who died of his cancer this week.

Killing wrote on Instagram: “Get to know the last World Cup, understood well from the first second. I was able to give you the last championship ring, at Berlin’s athletes of the year, 2000 guests clapped for you. You were so open and clear with this shit- Illness.

In the summer of 2024, a malignant tumor near Eder was found during a sports medical examination. The competitive athlete started treatment immediately, but his state of health has deteriorated rapidly in the past few months. Half a year after the diagnosis, he died.

Sad news that killing left stunned: “Why? A question that can never be answered. Tobi, you will be missing. Very! Fuck crab, unjust, terrible. Quiet in peace, Tobias Eder.” He posted a black and white photo that shows him on Eder’s side.

Eder had made his debut for the German national team in the 2020/21 season. At the 2024 World Cup, he was in the squad for the first time at a big tournament and was used three times. In the 6: 4 victory against Slovakia, he scored a goal. Germany reached the quarter -finals, but lost 1: 3 there.
