The German handball players left the World Cup. In the meantime, however, it became dramatic against Portugal-and apparently also in the commentator box.
There is not often something like that on live TV: During the ARD broadcast of the quarter-final game of the World Handball Championship between Germany and Portugal, expert Johannes Bitter apparently had a cramp. In the middle of one of the most exciting phases of the game.
At 17:18 from a German perspective, about a quarter of an hour before the end of the regular season, the former goalkeeper suddenly said in a slightly distorted voice: “Oh, I have cramp.”
Commentator Florian Naß was audibly surprised by it. “You have a cramp?” He returned incredulously. “Yes,” added Bitter Kurz.
Naß picked up the ball directly and linked the bizarre situation with the events on the field. “It cramps inside because it is so exciting,” he said. After that, the comment on the game continued as normal.
What is further behind the “Krampf” statement by Bitter is not known. However, it is certain that the German team still managed to equalize a little later, but then unhappily left in the extension. Read more about this here.
