The TV child of Linda de Mol hits the intensive care with screaming sirens: brilliant brains is a flop and not just a bit too. She dives under 400K and the market share halves. “The premise is not right!”

No wonder that RTL 4 left it on the shelf for so long: the Linda de Mol-show brilliant brains is simply not good enough for broadcast on TV, and that is what the viewer shows too. You expect a lot with such a title, but those supposedly highly intelligent candidates just have to answer questions about Máxima and Gooische Women.

Linda collapses

Brilliant brains already started carefully with 671 thousand viewers, but collapsed to 451 thousand viewers last week. Very poor, but luckily for Linda, the market share in the commercial target group (20 to 54 years) remained stable at a great 20 percent. How different is that this weekend: now the Kleenex boxes can really get out en masse in Crailo.

Viewing grade authority Tina Nijkamp reports on her analysis canal: “In the Linda de Mol quiz on RTL 4, brilliant brains were now central after Máxima and Elvis, Gooische Vrouwen as an exam. It scored lower than last week in both Totals and in 25 to 54 years: 367 thousand viewers and 9.5 percent market share.”

“Nobody expected”

This is about the scores on the broadcasting evening itself, if the big money is earned. And with less than 400 thousand linear viewers, Linda of course does not bring enough money to the drawer. “Remarkably, Linda is lent to RTL 4 by SBS 6 for this quiz, but is now being overtaken by that channel. I really didn’t expect anyone to expect that.”

Tina continues: “SBS 6 also has a knowledge quiz at exactly the same time (9.30 pm), also from Talpa. That does have the advantage that it starts seven minutes earlier. The Allesweter VIPS with Rob Kamphues records 469 thousand viewers and 17.4 percent. Much higher than last week.”

What’s wrong?

What’s wrong with Linda’s TV child? “I think brilliant brain is not missing that it does not meet the premise of the title. The (nice) casting consists of really smart people, but the questions are average quiz questions. Too easy. Also the exam themes such as Máxima, Elvis and Gooische Women are not what you expect with brilliant brains.”

You then expect physicist or mathematical subjects, according to Tina. “Now it appears that too little that you really have to be smart to participate. Sin. Format would with difficult themes than perhaps also fit more with the title.”

If the show collapses even further, then Linda’s horror scenario comes into view: being taken off the tube early.
