Wall Street closes divided after a positive opening suddenly reversed during the trading day. The Dow Jones ends with a small profit, but the S&P 500 and especially the Nasdaq lose ground. That turn also put pressure on the AEX earlier in the day. The Amsterdam main index reached an intraday record, but saw almost all of its gains evaporate and therefore missed a new closing record.
