A chalet at Slot Cranendonck in Soerendonk was destroyed by fire this morning. No one was injured. The cause of the fire is unknown. The emergency services were alerted around 5:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived, the house was engulfed in flames.
Due to the severity of the fire, it took some time before the fire was under control. The fire brigade managed to prevent the flames from spreading to surrounding chalets. However, an outbuilding was badly damaged.
The park is owned by the Oostappen Group of the nationally known owner Peter Gillis from Ommel. His son Mark came to take a look to assist the emergency services where necessary.
