Türkiye completed the U23 European Athletics Championships with 6 medals!



At the U23 European Athletics Championships held in Helsinki, Finland, between 12-17 July, Turkey broke the record with a total of 6 medals by winning 2 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medals.


Turkey won its first medal in 2001 at the U23 European Athletics Championships, which started in 1997, and won 5 medals in 2019. National athletes won 6 medals in Finland, reaching the highest number of medals in the history of the U23 European Athletics Champion.


Ali Eren Ünlü in the high jump and İsmail Nezir in the 400 meters hurdles won gold medals. The 4×400 flag team consisting of Özlem Becerek in the discus throw and Berke Akçam, İlyas Çanakçı, Kubilay Öncü, Berke Akçam, İsmail Nezir, Oğuzhan Kaya and Yağız Yaşam in the 400 meters hurdles won the silver medal. Batuhan Çakır won the bronze medal in the triple jump.
