Inflation in Turkey rose further in July to 79.6 percent. The rise in the cost of living in the country was therefore slightly lower than expected. Economists had expected a rise in the general price level of more than 80 percent. Inflation thus remained at its highest level in 24 years and was mainly driven by higher transport and food costs.
