In the 7th week of Basketball ULEB European Cup Group B, Türk Telekom lost 88-81 against Spain’s Gran Canaria in the field.
Türk Telekom suffered its 2nd defeat in the group, while the Spanish representative achieved its 5th victory.
With this defeat, Türk Telekom’s 12-game unbeaten streak in the league and in Europe came to an end. Baskent team suffered their first defeat about 2 months after losing to Paris Basket on 11 October.
The guest team was ahead 5-0 in the first 3 minutes against Türk Telekom, which could not start the match as they wanted. Gran Canaria, responding to the hits from the outside shots by the Başkent team, with baskets from the painted area, finished the first quarter 28-19 superior.
Playing with a high percentage from behind the three-point line in the second quarter, Gran Canaria extended the lead to 15 in the 13th minute: 23-38. Gran Canariya increased the lead to 20 (34-54) in the 17th minute with Benite’s effective performance, and went ahead 55-37 in the locker room.
