The Juventus coach speaks after the defeat at home to Lazio, the third in a row for the Bianconeri: “We need to stay united and all work harder together”
“It’s a bad and difficult time and we are all responsible.” Igor Tudor does not want to be the scapegoat for Juventus’ dire crisis, defeated in Rome by Lazio for the third consecutive time in a week and, after the match, he speaks without filters. “We need to stay united and all work more together. We prepared the match in the right way, but we’re always missing something: we need to throw it in and we mustn’t make mistakes behind – this is the message that the Croatian coach sends to his players through Dazn -. Instead, there are always some mistakes and we lose games.” The Croatian coach, then, doesn’t want to hear about the bench being at risk. “I don’t think about myself, I see that everyone asks me these questions, but I don’t think about myself – he swears -. I live in the present and I don’t give a damn about the future. I am clear and aware of the problems that exist.” And, in the press conference, he is even more clear: “Are you taking a step backwards? No no, my friend: the steps are only forward…”, he replies to those who ask him about possible resignation.

Among Juve’s difficulties, the most serious one is certainly that relating to the attack: despite having cleared up with 2 center forwards at the Olimpico, Juve did not score for the fourth consecutive match. “Today we tried with 2 attackers, we were there and we had opportunities, but we’re definitely missing a little something – he explains -. I chose David and Vlahovic because Yildiz needed rest: both have goals in the cards, but when it gets to the last 20 meters someone has to put it behind otherwise a small mistake always happens and they punish you.” Speaking of errors, Tudor does not mince his words in commenting on Cambiaso’s performance. “I saw him in difficulty against Isaksen and I didn’t even like how he played the role in the attacking phase”, he is clear.

Finally, the technician returns to the dark moment. “We feel terrible, but we need to stay together and unite. Everyone is responsible, we try to do better and it’s a moment like this, but we play straight away in two days and with a victory we can start again – he tries to encourage his team -. But be careful because even last year we never won 3-4 to zero against teams that were inferior on paper.”
