Hoffenheim doesn’t necessarily need another MF player, for Stach it’s more of a step from one midfield club to the next.
Financially it makes sense, of course, with the transfer some people and Stach earn again.
I also doubt that Hoffenheim will be able to attack the European places in the long term, because Uncle Hopp would have to dig into the box again properly.
Bayern, BVB, RBL, Bayer are ahead of Hoffenheim in any case, plus Wolfsburg, Union, Freiburg, Eintracht and possibly Gladbach, albeit with upheaval.
Hoffenheim is somewhere with Mainz, Augsburg, Stuttgart, Bremen and Cologne in the group of midfield teams that in a good season reach a single-digit place in the table, but in a bad season they can quickly end up in the relegation battle.
Gladbach can probably also be included in this group, they fit into both.
