Julian Nagelsmann has just extended his contract as a national coach. Now a bad news is suffering from him. One of his goalkeepers threatens to fall out longer.

National goalkeeper Oliver Baumann apparently fails for weeks. This reports several media, including the “Bild” and the “kicker”. The 34-year-old from TSG Hoffenheim injured his foot. He is said to have torn the plantar fascia and are therefore missing between four and six weeks.

This message is bitter not only for the relegated Kraichgauer, in which Baumann is captain and an important support. National coach Julian Nagelsmann is also likely to worry about the goalkeeper with regard to the upcoming quarter -final games in the Nations League. The DFB team will meet Italy on March 20 and 23.

Baumann is currently fighting with Stuttgart keeper Alexander Nübel for the square between the German posts. Because: District goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen continues to fail with a patella tendon tear in the right knee. The “picture” reports that Baumann is currently in the duel with Nübel. A fact that could now change.

Baumann was-unlike Nübel-part of the final German European Championship squad last year. It was not until October 2024 that he had made his debut in the national team’s jersey in the National League game against the Netherlands.
