WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) – White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles accuses Vanity Fair magazine of taking her explosive statements about US President Donald Trump out of context. “Essential context” was ignored in the article published Tuesday, while many details were left out, Wiles wrote on X.

She assumes that “a predominantly chaotic and negative image” of President Trump and his team should be shown. The text is a “disingenuous, slanderous attack on me and the best President, the best White House team and the best Cabinet in history.”

Vanity Fair published an article on Tuesday morning (local time) in which Wiles judged her boss surprisingly bluntly and harshly. Trump has the “personality of an alcoholic,” said the chief of staff, for example. At this point the magazine does not quote the entire sentence from the conversation, but only the fragment. According to Vanity Fair, the article is based on several conversations with Wiles.

Wiles now received support from Trump’s spokeswoman, Karoline Leavitt: “President Trump has no more important and loyal advisor than Susie,” she also wrote on X and referred to Wiles’ previous post./ngu/DP/nas
