The United States Another ship from Venezuela attackedreports US President Donald Trump on his social media platform Truth Social. According to Trump, it was a boat from a Venezuelan drug cartel that was on its way to the United States and was attacked on the international waters. Three people on board were killed in the attack.
“These extremely violent drugs smuggling cartels pose a danger to American safety,” he writes. Trump says he has given the order for the attack on the ‘narcoterrorists’.
He did not provide proof that the ship transported drugs, but says he has it. “You just have to look at the load that ended up in the ocean: everywhere large bags of cocaine and fentanyl,” Trump told journalists about that.
Eleven people died in an earlier American attack on a Venezuelan ship almost two weeks ago.
In recent weeks, the United States have stationed several torpedo boot hunters, naval ships and submarines in the Caribbean Sea on the edge of the Venezuelan waters and also a dozen F-35 combat aircraft on nearby Puerto Rico.
Venezuela ready for armed conflict
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has said about the American troop structure in the Caribbean Sea that he will “protect his country at all costs” against “American aggression.”
He also stated that he was ready for a possible armed conflict with the US. “We are a decent, happy people, but we are also a people of proud fighters,” said Maduro, encouraging his population to take shooting lessons.
Trump accuses Maduro van Tanden with the drug cartels, but that strongly denies Venezuelan President. According to Maduro, the Americans want to overthrow his government. He speaks of legal, political, diplomatic and persistent military aggression by the US.
In the US, Democratic and some Republican senators criticized the first attack at the beginning of this month, because they doubt the legitimacy of American performance.
