Donald Trump wrote in the early 2000s A birthday letter to Jeffrey Epsteinin which the future president spoke to the later convicted sex offenders with the words that they had “certain things in common”. The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday about the existence of the letter after it had received documents for an album from 2003 that Epstein’s then partner Ghislaine Maxwell – now also convicted sex offender – had put together for his 50th birthday.
Brief text allegedly embedded in a drawn naked woman
According to the report, the letter with Trump’s name was drawn into the contour of a naked woman who was apparently hand -drawn with a thick marker. Trump’s signature, “Donald”, appears below the waist of the figure.
According to the journal, it is unclear how the machine written letter text was created. The published content within the outline of the naked woman is therefore:
Voice over: There has to be more in life than to have everything.
Donald: Yes, there is, but I will not tell you what it is.
Jeffrey: Not me either, because I also know.
Donald: We have certain things in common, Jeffrey.
Jeffrey: Yes, that’s true if I think about it.
Donald: Never age puzzles, did you notice that?
Jeffrey: In fact, it became clear to me last time when I saw you.
Trump: A buddy is something wonderful. Happy birthday – and may there be another wonderful secret every day.
Trump denied to have written the letter. “I am not. This is a fake thing. It is a fake Wall Street Journal story,” he told the newspaper at the beginning of the week. “I’ve never drawn a picture in my life. I don’t draw women. This is not my language. They are not my words.”
Trump threatened the newspaper with a lawsuit if she was to publish the story. “I will sue the Wall Street Journal as I have sued everyone else,” he said.
Trump threatens to complain against Murdoch and the “Journal”
Shortly after the story was released on Thursday, Trump wrote to Truth on Truth that he had warned the journal and “Rupert Murdoch personally” before publication and that he would “sue the Wall Street Journal, Newscorp and Mr. Murdoch”. The president called the story “wrong, malignant and defamatory” and described the “journal” as “disgusting and dirty leaf”.
Vice President Jd Vance jumped on the side on Thursday evening: “Sorry for my choice of words, but this story is complete Bullshit. The WSJ should be ashamed of publishing her,” wrote Vance on X. “Where is this letter? Would it be surprising that they never showed us before they published it? Does anyone really believe that this sounds like Donald Trump?”
Press spokeswoman of the White House Karoline Leavitt accused the journal of “knowingly published false information to defamate the President of the United States” and said that the story was part of a “coordinated deception of the democrats and fake news to harm President Trump”.
White-house campaign against the publication fails
On Wednesday, Rolling Stone reported on how the Trump government put considerable effort and resources in a multi-track strategy in order to contain the response to the decision of the Ministry of Justice to investigate the investigation into Epstein and its connections to influential personalities internally and in the event of right-wing opinion leaders.
Several sources from the White House area told Rolling Stone that part of this strategy had been a day -long campaign – led by an angry president – to prevent the publication of the letter in the journal. This has now been done.
Pressure on the Murdoch leaf remained ineffective
A government employee described the White House as on a “authorized war path” to put the conservative sheet under all means. Various contacts and paths were used to stop the story. According to the insider, this was “absolute priority” for Trump and dominated many conversations in the west wing and beyond.
In the end, the journal-controlled by the Murdoch family, which also operates Fox News-was not impressed by the maximum pressure of Trump. When asked about the president’s legal threats, a source of the matter only said: “The president is in contact with external lawyers.”
Several consultants and people in the political environment admitted that his persistent attempt to suppress history had only gave her even more weight. “It is burdening him,” said another source. “The President wanted to check various options, also legally what he could do to stop the story or act against it.”
Old Epstein connections bring Trump back in
Trump’s long history with Epstein has been critically highlighted again since the Pepstein Memos was published. The two were often photographed together and filmed together at parties in the 1990s. In 2002 Trump told New York Magazine: “I have known Jeff for 15 years. Fantastic guy. It’s fun to be with him. It is even said that he likes beautiful women – many of them are quite young. No doubt – Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”
The decision of the Ministry of Justice to end the investigation has triggered far-reaching criticism-especially Maga-Influencern. Trump reacted with the assertion that ex-President Barack Obama and other Democrats had fake the Epstein files and attacked his own supporters for falling for what he now calls a “Hoax”.
In his article on the letter, the journal reports that Trump said reporters on Tuesday that Obama and others had “invented” the Epstein files after he had previously commented on the story.
