Cheney, 56, daughter of ex-Vice President Dick Cheney, has repeatedly spoken out clearly against Donald Trump. She was even part of the Commission of Inquiry into the storming of the Capitol. She recently shot a promotional video in which she portrays Trump as “the greatest threat to the US”. After the primary election results were announced, Cheney said in a speech that he “will do everything he can” to prevent Trump from ending up in the White House again.
Hageman received support from Trump. She has often reiterated his claim that the 2020 elections were rigged. The politician will face a Democratic candidate in the midterm elections in November, but he is unlikely to win in the traditionally Republican state of Wyoming.
Trump won Wyoming with 70 percent of the vote in the last election in 2020.
Cheney has been in the House of Representatives since 2017. She is the daughter of Dick Cheney, the vice president under George W. Bush. Her supporters within the party hope that she will run for the 2024 presidential election, but she has not yet made any announcements.
