True Detective: Night Country: Jodie Foster stars in Season 4 of the crime series

Jodie Foster will play detective Liz Danvers in the new season of True Detective. In addition, this time the series is about a criminal case in Alaska and is called “True Detective: Night Country”.

Titled “True Detective: Night Country,” the fourth season of the HBO drama takes place in the wintry wasteland of the US state of Alaska. A statement describes the season as follows:

“As the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the six men who run the Tsalal arctic research station disappear without a trace. To solve the case, detectives Liz Danvers and Evangeline Navarro must confront the darkness within themselves and dig into the cursed truths buried beneath the eternal ice.”

McConaughey and Harrelson continue as producers

So far it’s not clear who will portray Navarro. However, various changes in the cast are already known:
True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto left the show after the third season. The newcomers are Barry Jenkins as executive producer and Issa Lopez and Alan Page Arriaga as co-writers on the screenplays. Additionally, Lopez, Arriaga and Foster will serve as executive producers on the series. Mari Jo Winkler and season one stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson remain on board as executive producers.

Five-time Emmy winner

The third season of the series starring Mahershala Ali and Stephen Dorff was released in 2019. The first season starring Harrelson and McConaughey aired in 2014. This was followed in 2015 by the second season with Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, Vince Vaughn and Taylor Kitsch. In total, “True Detective” was nominated for 23 Emmy Awards – winning five, all for the first season.
