Serious accident in Brandenburg! A man drove a truck with a large trailer into a tree in Märkisch-Oderland on Monday afternoon. The driver was thrown from the truck and died at the scene of the accident.
The transporter was traveling with a caravan from a showman company. Around 4:30 p.m., the driver left the road between Heckelberg and Tiefensee for an unknown reason and crashed into a tree.
Volunteer firefighters found debris at the scene of the accident. The driver was thrown out of the driver’s cab in the accident. The rescuers, including the emergency doctor of a rescue helicopter, tried to resuscitate the man – without success!
The driver of a car was lucky and was able to avoid the oncoming truck. He landed in the ditch and suffered a slight shock, but ultimately escaped with a fright.
The federal highway 168 is closed until further notice. An expert and specialists from the Brandenburg police must now determine how the fatal accident could have happened.
