A truck has ended up on the wrong side of the road on Helmondsingel in Deurne. There he crashed head-on into a car and a van. Two people in the car were seriously injured and were taken to Radboudumc in Nijmegen under police escort.
The driver of the van was also injured and was taken to hospital. The truck driver escaped unharmed.
It is not yet known what caused the driver to run off the road. That is still under investigation by the police. The road between Deurne and Helmond will remain closed for the time being for research and salvage work.
