A truck with a semi-trailer lost a heavy crane part weighing 2.5 tons on Wednesday morning around a quarter past eight on the N261 in Tilburg, near the bend of the Burg Letschertweg towards the Midden-Brabantweg. Oil also leaked from the truck.
The tension straps snapped, causing the part to fall onto the road surface and oil to flow from the engine. The driver tried to catch the oil with cloths.
The police arrived on the scene and will probably draw up a report. A crane truck arrives to remove the part from the road. The accident has caused a heavy traffic jam and the road will remain closed for the next few hours.
