A truck caught fire on the Eindhovensedijk in Oirschot on Thursday afternoon. There was a lot of fire and thick smoke from the car, for which the fire brigade of Best had to help with a water bowl. The fire was quickly extinguished with foam and water, but the truck can no longer be driven.
The car started burning around 4:30 p.m., after which the fire quickly spread. A recovery company has towed the truck. It is unknown how the truck fire started.
Firefighters from the barracks in Oirschot were able to quickly get to the burning truck: a little further on, the fire service investigated a possibly leaking tank truck on the A58.
Rushed through
After the report of the truck fire, the tanker sprayer of the Oirschotse fire brigade rushed to the Eindhovensedijk. It turned out that nothing was wrong with the tanker on the highway.
