Trouble at the Kollwitzmarkt – where is the tolerance?

Construction work on the floor above, dog poop on the sidewalk or bottles that crash into the container in the inner courtyard at impossible times – there are a lot of things that annoy me in my neighborhood.

What doesn’t annoy me: a weekly market right in front of the door. I had it at Boxhagener Platz for years and thought it was great!

And yes, it jingles and clatters, sometimes there’s a bang and the streets are always full of people, but I’m only a snap of my fingers away from fresh groceries and my neighborhood is alive.

What I have no sympathy for are neighbors who drive people who want to enrich the neighborhood to the parade with complaints.

A few residents prevent the Kollwitzmarkt from opening earlier on Saturdays. Hundreds of others don’t seem to mind the hustle and bustle of the market. That’s called tolerance.
