As of this Friday, Louis Delahaije will fill the post that has been vacant since Faris Al-Sultan’s departure in September 2020. The now 53-year-old Dutchman worked as head coach for DTU after the 2004 to 2006 Olympic Games.

“Louis brings the necessary expertise, calmness and prudence and shows himself to be a good communicator in the first conversations,” said DTU sports director Jörg Bügner in a statement: “I’m confident that we can achieve our ambitious goals for the Olympic Games with him be achieved in Paris in 2024.” There, the DTU is aiming for a podium place for women, a place in the top eight for men and fifth place in the mixed relay.
