Tresoldi signs a professional contract with Hannover 96 on his birthday

“Great development made”

Nicolo Tresoldi signed his first professional contract with Hannover 96 when he was barely 18 years old. Immediately after returning from 4-0 at 1. FC Magdeburg, the striker signed the contract, which ran until June 30, 2026, shortly after midnight on his birthday. In Magdeburg, Tresoldi had previously been in the 96 starting eleven for the first time on Friday evening.

“Nicolo is a boy from our academy, has made great progress here at 96 and totally identifies with the city and the club,” said sporting director Marcus Mann about the Italian, who has only had a youth player contract until 2025. “He has everything he needs to make his way in professional football. Nevertheless, we also know that you shouldn’t expect too much from the boy too quickly.”

Tresoldi has been a part of the first-team squad since this season and was substituted on in three games prior to his appearance in Magdeburg. He made his debut at the age of 17 years, 10 months and 25 days in the 1-2 draw in Kaiserslautern on Matchday 1, making him the second youngest player in 96 history this millennium. Only Valmir Sulejmani was a few days younger when it premiered in 2013.
