The Hamburg trading group Gebr. Heinemann SE & Co. KG has created a new leadership position as part of a structural reform. The company announced that Gonn Weide has been named Vice President Commercial Strategy & Operations. He will take over the position on November 15th and then report directly to Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Inken Callsen.

According to the group that specializes in travel retail, in his future role Weide will take responsibility for “the three purchasing areas Beauty, Fashion Accessories (FA) and Liquor, Tobacco & Confectionery (LTC) and the Commercial Effectiveness area, which makes a significant contribution to the development of competence in pricing, product range and promotions”.

The aim of bundling these areas under common management is to “promote profitable growth and further develop the product range strategies,” the company said. “With this new structure, we are creating clear responsibilities and priorities in our commercial functions,” explained CCO Callsen.

According to his future employer, Weide most recently held various management roles at the Obi hardware store chain. There he “successfully led initiatives for the implementation of commercial strategies, product range management and performance management”. The new addition brings “extensive experience in the areas of commercial strategy and transformation,” emphasized the company.
