VfL Wolfsburg has made the next transfer perfect for the coming second division season and signed striker Fraser Hornby. The 26-year-old comes from Darmstadt 98 and has a contract with the Wolves until June 30, 2030. Before relegation, Wolfsburg had already brought back Elvis Rexhbecaj from FC Augsburg.
Hornby will help Wolfsburg with “his dynamism, his footballing quality, but also his personality,” said sports director Pirmin Schwegler: “We were impressed by how clear he was in his decision to join VfL. Fraser also had other options and could have moved to the Bundesliga, for example. In this respect, we are very pleased that we were able to convince him to join VfL Wolfsburg.”
From the FC Everton youth academy, Hornby’s path led to Darmstadt in the summer of 2023 via positions at KV Kortrijk, Stade Reims, FC Aberdeen and KV Oostende. He initially appeared seven times in the Bundesliga for the Hessians before missing the rest of the season due to an injury. In the two second division seasons, Hornby played 53 games, in which he scored 23 goals and provided ten assists.

According to consistent media reports, national player Deniz Undav has extended his contract with VfB Stuttgart, which expires in 2027, by two years.
Sky and the “Bild” newspaper reported that the Swabians had reached an agreement with their top scorer before he left for the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
Undav’s salary is expected to rise from 4.5 million euros to up to 6 million euros. In addition, there is apparently a one-off payment in the low single-digit million range when the contract is signed.
Undav is currently preparing for the World Cup with the national team in Herzogenaurach. The most dangerous German attacker of the season had already given hints about a possible quick agreement after the DFB Cup final against FC Bayern Munich (0:3) last weekend. The 29-year-old recently explained that it was important to him to have clarity before the tournament started.
