According to Polish media, Robert Lewandowski has made his way to the USA to conduct concrete transfer negotiations with Chicago Fire with his advisor Pini Zahavi. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 37-year-old attacker has a two or three-year contract in the MLS.
Lewandowski apparently wants to get an idea of the conditions in Chicago on site and then raise or lower his thumb for a move to the US.
His contract with FC Barcelona expires on June 30th and will not be renewed.

Werder Bremen is known to be looking for fresh talent for the attack center. One candidate is said to be Kevin Rodriguez from the top Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise, who is currently with the Ecuadorian national team at the World Cup and will face Germany there.
A podcast from the Ecuadorian newspaper “El Universo” reported on the interest of numerous clubs from Europe. Rodriguez scored ten league goals and prepared two more in 2025/2026. His contract ends in 2027 but has a one-year extension clause.
With the Swiss Cedric Itten, Werder should have another World Cup participant on the list.

Mainz 05 has signed the defense chief and captain of 1. FC Nürnberg, Fabio Gruber. The Rheinhessen announced this on Friday. The club did not provide any information about the contents of the contract.
“With Fabio Gruber we are getting a young central defender who is extremely strong in duels but also plays and has a top character who has already demonstrated a lot of leadership quality in his previous positions,” Mainz sports director Niko Bungert was quoted as saying.
Gruber had worn the 1. FC Nürnberg jersey since the beginning of 2025, and the 23-year-old has played 41 second division games for the club since then. In November 2025, the Augsburg-born central defender also celebrated his debut in the Peruvian national team.

Even before the first game at the World Cup, Michael Gregoritsch’s future has been clarified: the Austrian international will stay with Bundesliga club FC Augsburg. The Swabians have drawn the purchase option, which is said to be around 500,000 euros, for the 32-year-old attacker. Gregoritsch was on loan from Bröndby IF and has now signed a contract until June 30, 2027 with an option for another year.
“I feel very comfortable at FC Augsburg. I feel a lot of trust and know the environment very well,” said Gregoritsch, who played for FCA from 2017 to 2022. He will now “enjoy the next few weeks with the national team and then return to Augsburg full of anticipation. We want to attack fully again next season.” Austria starts the World Cup against Jordan on June 17th.
“Michael impressively demonstrated how valuable he is to our team in the second half of the season with important scorer points and strong performances. He takes responsibility and moves forward on and off the pitch,” said FCA sports director Benni Weber.

Djaoui Cissé has become a permanent member of the squad at French first division club Stade Rennes in 2025/26. The 22-year-old midfielder played 25 competitive games, but was not even on the pitch for more than 90 minutes. Nico Schlotterbeck extended his contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2031 in the spring. However, the central defender secured a clause that allowed him to leave BVB early in the summer for a few other clubs. Real Madrid should belong to this circle.
