Gareth Bale’s move to Los Angeles FC in Major League Soccer is perfect. The club confirmed the 32-year-old Welshman has been given a contract until 2023 with an option for a further year.
Los Angeles FC is coached by former Bundesliga professional Steven Cherundolo, after Italian defense icon Giorgio Chiellini recently moved there.
Once the most expensive player in history
Bale most recently played for record-breaking Spanish champions Real Madrid. The attacker came to Real from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 and was considered the most expensive player in the world at the time with a transfer fee of 101 million euros.
He won the Champions League five times in Madrid but has not played a major role on the pitch for a long time. With the Welsh national team, he recently qualified for the World Cup in Qatar in autumn.
