Hamburger Tim Tramnitz celebrated his second victory in Formula 3 and demonstrated nerve strength.
On Saturday morning, the 20-year-old prevailed in the sprint race in Imola in front of his Spanish MP engine sports team mate Bruno Del Pino and Bulgarian Nikola Zolow (Campos Racing). For Tramnitz, it was the second triumph in a sprint race for Tramnitz after winning the 2024 season finale in Monza.
In the overall ranking, the German has reduced his gap to Rafael Camara (Brazil/Trident), who had won the main races in Australia and Bahrain and this time missed the points. Tramnitz is still missing a victory in a run over the full distance. The next chance for this is on Sunday (8.30 a.m./Sky) in Imola.
Then Tramnitz will only start from eleventh place, a catch -up on the traditional route, on which overtaking is difficult, will be a big challenge.
In the sprint on Saturday, Tramnitz started second place, already at the beginning of the third round he started with DRS support for the decisive overtaking maneuver against DEL Pino and took the lead. Although the competition remained persistent, the Hamburger could not take the triumph.
