ADO was already behind in stadium De Geusselt after 16 seconds. Koen Kostons put MVV ahead immediately after kick-off. Mart Remans signed for the 2-0 in the 24th minute. Willem II celebrated the first league win of the season. The club, still active in the Eredivisie last season, defeated Telstar (2-1). Matthias Verreth and Max Svensson scored for the formation from Tilburg. Odysseus Velanas helped NAC Breda to the win over TOP Oss (1-0) and FC Dordrecht won in their own stadium against Jong FC Utrecht (2-1).
Heracles Almelo, PEC Zwolle, Jong AZ and VVV-Venlo will come into action later in the third round. Those clubs are still without loss of points after two games.
