Due to a rear-end collision on the N34 between Annen and Gieten, the road was temporarily closed to traffic. Three cars were involved in the accident, two cars were seriously damaged.
Two ambulances arrived on the scene to provide first aid to those involved. One person has been taken to hospital.
Traffic in both directions was delayed between Zuidlaren and Gasselte. The N34 was closed between Annen and Gasselte. Afterwards, traffic was stuck in a traffic jam for some time.
