The CNV trade union wants to quickly measure the safety for bus drivers on bus line 73 between Emmen, Ter Apel and Stadskanaal. The trade union says they get signals from drivers that they are increasingly confronted with intimidation, threats and physical violence.
Since the summer, the drivers have experienced more insecurity, says CNV. “They report it, but do not have the idea that something is happening with it or that the situation is improving,” said CNV negotiator Niels smoke. Extra measures should not be a matter of weeks as far as he is concerned, but of days.
According to smoke, the contact between, for example, a BOA and a driver now takes too long. This is via the National Central in Amersfoort, while CNV wants “the shortest possible contact way”. CNV also wants extra police and boas at the station of Emmen and more safety employees on and around the bus line.
Carrier Qbuzz states in a response to be busy again to set the fast contact between boas and drivers, to support the drivers. “We try to use this as quickly as possible,” reports a company spokesperson. Qbuzz also says it will enter into discussions with the parties involved about the state of affairs.
In the past, there were several problems on the bus line due to nuisance asylum seekers from the AZC in Ter Apel.
