Trabzonsporlu Marek Hamsik was awarded the World War II by the President of Slovakia Zuzano Kaputova. Ludovít Stur was awarded the Order of the State.
In the event organized within the scope of the 30th anniversary of Slovakia’s independence, President Zuzana Kaputova awarded the state medal to 28 public figures.
Marek Hamsik was also awarded the “Ludovit II Stur” medal for contributing to Slovakia’s extraordinary development in the field of sports and increasing the country’s prestige abroad.
In his speech at the ceremony, President Kaputova said about Hamsik, “Perhaps the most famous award winner is the former Slovakia national team football player and captain, Marek Hamsik.”
